Factory for Spices, Canning 'Sealed with Red Wax' in Bar Elias

Security forces sealed with red wax a foodstuffs factory in Bar Elias in the Bekaa for not abiding by health standards.

“A patrol from the Bekaa's State Security department accompanied by a patrol from the Consumers Protection Department stormed a factory for the manufacture of spices, thyme and the canning of grains and foodstuffs,” said the National News Agency.

“The factory is managed by Syrian national A.A. in Bar Elias,” it added.

A large quantity of goods was seized for not confirming to health standards.

The owner of the factory was arrested and about five tons of expired materials were disposed of, following an authorization from the competent judicial authorities.

After that the factory's doors were sealed with red wax, NNA said.
