Five men and a teenager were charged in a Malaysian court on Wednesday with plotting terror attacks in the country, according to court documents.

The five men are mostly in their 20s or early 30s while the teenager is 16.

Guard Wounded in Attack on U.N. Personnel in Mali's Capital

An unidentified gunman opened fire on a United Nations residence in the Malian capital Bamako on Wednesday, wounding a civilian guard and damaging vehicles, the organization’s MINUSMA peacekeeping mission said.

The assailant attempted to set fire to one of the force's vehicles parked in front of the residence housing troops in the city's southeastern Faso Kanu neighborhood around 2:30 am (0230 GMT), the force said in a statement.

4 People Missing after Barge Capsizes in Singapore Waters

Fourteen people -- 13 Chinese nationals and a Malaysian -- were missing Wednesday after their sand-carrier barge capsized in Singapore waters, officials said, as authorities despatched naval and coast guard vessels to search for them.

Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) said it had received reports that one Chinese crew member was rescued by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency.

15 Missing after China Building Collapse

At least 15 people were believed to be missing Wednesday after a residential building in China collapsed due to landslides, officials said as rescuers searched through the wreckage.

An apartment block which housed 114 people in Guiyang, capital of the southern province of Guizhou, collapsed after landslides caused by heavy rains, the city's government said on its website.

Kenya Cholera Death Toll Rises to 65

At least 65 people are confirmed to have died in a nearly five-month-old cholera outbreak in Kenya, with infections also continuing to rise in the capital Nairobi, health officials said Wednesday.

Health Minister James Macharia said 326 new cases have been reported over the past week nationwide, a nearly 50 percent increase over the previous week and bringing the total number of cases to 3,223.

Ukraine Charges Two Suspected Russian Soldiers with 'Terrorist Activity'

Ukraine has charged two suspected Russian soldiers who were captured during a gun battle in the separatist eastern region of Lugansk with involvement in "terrorist activity", a security official said Wednesday.

Somalia's al-Qaida-affiliated Shebab militants on Wednesday condemned Myanmar's "savage Buddhists" and urged Southeast Asia's Muslims to come to the aid of Rohingya Muslim boatpeople.

In a rare statement on an issue outside the Horn of Africa region, the Shebab told Muslims in Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand to "take the pivotal role in alleviating the suffering of the Muslims in Myanmar".
